THE BONNIE SITUATION

Directed by Peter Matkiwsky

Peter returned home to discover that he had lost everything. Distraught, he returns home to seek comfort in the friends he left behind. Peter's reinvention begins, but when things don’t go as according to plans, his friends take matters into their own hands. Fearing that he will try to get back with his dreaded ex, they begin to plot her demise. All is not lost when Peter finds hope in a local bartender named Bonnie, but it appears that Bonnie has not been 100% truthful about her identity. Can Peter overlook this fabrication of the truth before his friends make a grave mistake? Only time will tell in this hilariously twisted romantic comedy that teaches us - when it comes to love, logic need not apply.

NIGHTMARE

After a wild party, a film student awakens in the arms of a mysterious actress. It's of them, committing a vicious murder.  There's no time to investigate; the director must pitch a film to his class that morning. Arriving panicked, he describes to the class the horrifying confusion of the night before, playing it as fiction. When the class enthusiastically votes to produce his “pitch,” it is too late for him to back out.  So now, the director spends his days filming the nightmares that he finds every morning on video tape, and his nights searching for who is filming him.

Writer/director Tony Marsiglia delivers a dark, brutal and disturbing film that is both sexually provocative and psychologically intense.  “Sinful” is a horrifying vision of maternal instinct gone past the edge of sanity…a story literally “torn from today’s headlines.”  Lilith simply cannot conceive a child no matter how hard she wishes nor how desperately she tries.  As her marriage reaches the breaking point, so does her hold on reality slowly, painfully and dangerously slip away.  Lilith must become a mother - immediately and irrevocably - however terrifying the act or the consequences might be.

BARE HANDS AND WOODEN LIMBS

In 1974 former Khmer Rouge Commander Touj Soeurly and the fourteen year old Chhem Sip were deadly enemies. Sip was imprisoned, tortured, and just barely managed to escape with his life to the US. Now these two former enemies are working together to make possible the community of Veal Thom, a cooperative village composed primarily of soldiers - from both sides of the war - disabled by landmines, and their families. The amputees of Veal Thom cope with extreme poverty, the elements, poor health, lack of education and lack of resources. This film is a testament to the new feeling of cooperation in Cambodia and the courage of the villagers of Veal Thom.

IMAGINARY FRIEND

Ignored, belittled, invisible - for us this is a bad day, for Paul, this is his life. Paul is an imaginary friend. He spends his days accompanying Lucy, his host and the object of his affection, whenever she is feeling lonely, insecure, or in need of a good scapegoat. However, Paul must endure the sufferings of a voiceless existence, for, if he maintained his dignity and gave up, there'd be no existence to have. His fate is directly linked to Lucy's belief that he exists; without her, his window to the world is shut and he fades into oblivion. Thus, Paul must come to reconcile his existence and his love, realizing that there is more to life than the imaginary.

LUCKY

Lucky is moving from rural Zululand to Durban to live with his uncle. He is very excited until his uncle refuses to send him to school. Instead he gives him a tape of his mother’s last message made just before she died. Lucky struggles to play this however, and manages to do so on the tape-deck of a racist old Indian woman, Padma. This message upsets Lucky so much that he runs away from home and becomes a street-child for a night. On his return Padma feels sorry for him and they bond as an unlikely mother and son.

THE MEN’S ROOM

“The Men’s Room” is a 5 ½ minute animated film satirizing Hollywood’s history of male domination. In its 76 years, the Academy Awards has essentially disregarded women as
film directors. The film goes through the three times in the history of the Academy when women were nominated for an award but never received one. The characters, although unconventional, represent the behavior of some producers in the industry toward women directors.

FAT, BROKE & HORNY

Unfortunately pretty much based on a true story, “Fat, Broke & Horny” tells the story of one big man's struggle with the small time. Mark, our hero, gets kicked out of his apartment, attacked by a customer at work, attacked by his lover at home, dismissed by his agent, kicked out of Overeater's Anonymous and fired by an executive, all in the course of a lousy couple of days. Oh yeah, he also makes sure that his best friend loses his girlfriend of five years. It's a hard life in Hollywood if you're fat, broke, and horny.
